It’s a rare evening in which celebrities, art enthusiasts, and tastemakers from around the country can come together to support a great cause, enjoy amazing entertainment, and browse through an incredible display of art on view. The Human Rights Campaign’s annual gala is such a night, and the Corcoran is pleased to announce a call for artworks to include in a silent auction benefiting the HRC at its *sold out* 17th Annual Human Rights Campaign National Dinner on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center (apply online).
The National Dinner brings together more than 3,000 HRC members, friends, family, and allies for an evening of celebration and inspiration. Featuring a cocktail reception, an extensive silent auction, an elegant dinner, live entertainment, and thought-provoking speakers and guests, the HRC National Dinner attracts the nation’s top figures in entertainment and politics.
In addition to supporting a great cause, participating in the auction will give Corcoran Alumni the exclusive opportunity to feature their work in front of art collectors and tastemakers throughout the country and beyond. A pop-up gallery housing only Corcoran Alumni work will be constructed as part of the silent auction, giving guests the opportunity to view all of this work in one place. Each work will be labeled with the artist’s name, work title, media, and price and will be exhibited on a wall or on a pedestal. Additionally, artwork will be featured on the HRC auction website and in the digital auction program.
To participate, please complete the online registration form by September 18. All work must be dropped off by September 18 at the HRC offices: 1640 Rhode Island Ave. N.W.; Washington, DC; 20036. Work submitted must be delivered wrapped and ready to hang or install.
